Whether you believe that PC gaming is superior to console gaming or not, there are tons of people who prefer to play on their tricked-out desktops. These games are for them. With that said, don’t consider this as a ranked list as we’ll cover several different genres but big releases and smaller gems.
#102 The Wayward Realms
You know a game is trying to be different when they decide to give themselves a new genre title, “The Grand RPG.” Yeah, no ego was involved in that one!
In The Wayward Realms, you will be set on a massive island chain, one hundred islands strong. There, you’ll try and make your way through the world and make your claim to the treasures and wonders it holds.
The problem? There are hundreds of thousands of other characters in this world, and they will react to everything you do. So if you try to take over? They’ll try and stop you. If you fight them? They’ll fight back.
So dive in and see what story you’ll make.
#101 Ninja Simulator
Ninja Simulator’s title tells you everything you need to know about this game. Players are taking the role of a ninja mercenary hired to take out different clans in feudal Japan. Use the darkness as an ally and steer clear from the sights of your enemies. This game is about stealth and using your abilities to silently eliminate your targets without being caught. Do you have what it takes to eliminate a small army without drawing attention? What better way to find out than by giving Ninja Simulator a shot?
#100 ExoMecha
We will start out this list with a bit of a twist. Specifically, we have no idea if this game is going to come out in 2024. We’re not even saying that in a mean way, just an honest one.
The game was announced years back but hasn’t gotten a significant update since 2022. As such, there are many details about the game, including its release date, that are unknown. What the game’s developer has told us is the title will feature a free-to-play multiplayer styling that’ll have people both on the ground and in mechs clashing with one another.
If nothing else, it looks cool!
#99 Hyper Light Breaker
You might remember the previous game in this series that took 2D action games to new heights. Well, here’s the sequel! Hyper Light Breaker goes from the pixel art of the original to an incredibly stylized 3D world called the Overgrowth that you’ll love getting lost in.
You’ll dive into various areas in an attempt to defeat the Abyss King, and along the way, you’ll fight monsters who can give you near gear to make you stronger. Part of the fun is taking your character and giving them new fighting styles so you can see what kinds of carnage you can create!
So, are you ready to dive in?
#98 Enotria: The Last Song
What happens when music and stagecraft freeze the world you know? That’s the question in Enotria: The Last Song.
The game puts you in an Italian-inspired place where the world has been put into stasis. However, you have been able to break free of the world’s hold and must try to do the same with everyone else.
As you battle through foes, you’ll get masks, and those masks will grant you power. Specifically, they’ll give you new “roles” that you can embody to help take the fight to the one behind this “play.” The more you grow, the more talents you can unlock and the more powerful you become.
#97 Gothic Remake
The Gothic franchise is actually a bit bigger than most people remember. But the key thing here is that the games have been deep and full of story and fun to be had.
Now, a new studio has been made with the express purpose to go and make a Gothic 1 Remake and design it to be both completely modern, and yet one that adheres to what is the original game. We’ve seen a lot of remakes as of late, and some of them do indeed push the games beyond what they were before.
So, can this one live up to the hype? We’ll have to wait and see!
#96 Little Devil Inside
Many games like to show you worlds where monsters unexpectedly show up and cause havoc on their people. But in Little Devil Inside, the people know that the monsters exist. They just don’t care about them.
That’s where you come in. A professor hires you to identify odd paranormal events that people ignore and determine how dangerous they are.
Not everything you experience will be as you’d expect. So do what you can with what you have and see where this world takes you. Oh, and do be careful of the monsters you meet along the way. You might like some, but some might not like you.
#95 Crimson Desert
Crimson Desert is one of many titles about survival that you will find, but what makes this one so interesting is that you are truly given a massive and very unforgiving landscape to try and survive in via the lands of Pywel.
Not the least of which is because the lands are asunder with war, and as a result of that, you need to be careful about what you do in the lands, because the stories you make will define the stories to come.
You’ll need to get others to help you on your quest as well, because it’s dangerous to go in alone…hmm…where have we heard that before?
#94 DokeV
Oh, look! Another title that also features “cute monsters” for you to interact with in various ways. It’s almost as if people love ripping off beloved franchises to make money themselves! Who would’ve thought?
Anyway, in DokeV, you’ll be a human character who gets to work alongside creatures that are inspired by Korean folklore. Little is known about the game, but you will get to explore a vast world with your creatures by your side. You’ll undoubtedly get to battle with them and grow them through your combat experiences.
The team ensured that the world didn’t feel “fake” but instead, one that was quite similar to our own world.
#93 ARC Raiders
ARC Raiders is an upcoming free-to-play co-op shooter, where the action takes place in third-person mode as opposed to many of the popular FPS-style shooter games. Set in a ravaged world under threat from an otherworldly, mechanised onslaught from space known as ARC, the game pits players against the destructive powers of the robotic invaders. Co-op gameplay is a must in this title, although there’s also plenty of opportunity for exploration, scavenging and gear customisation as you fend off the sky-based threat that continually falls upon you and your squad. ARC Raiders looks like a great game for those who enjoy online multiplayer action in a futuristic setting.
#92 Everywhere
The new title Everywhere comes from a famed producer of the Grand Theft Auto franchise, but to describe it is honestly a bit hard with the lack of information we have. We know that it’s a “multi-world game”, and that the producer herself noted that she wanted the community to help build this world. For them to “tell their own stories in our world”.
There will be a lot of running and gunning in this game based on the trailer, but as the end of that same trailer shows, there is going to be some seriousness and depth to it as well.
We’ll just have to wait and see what this game is like when further details arrive.
#91 Phantom Blade Zero
Going now to a game we KNOW is coming out soon enough, Phantom Blade Zero amazed many people with its initial trailer thanks to its striking visuals and intense hack-n-slash gameplay.
You are Soul, an assassin for a group known simply as “The Order.” But things turn dark when Soul is seriously injured and only saved by a healer who informs him that he has 66 days left to live. With time winding down, he sets off on a path of vengeance, and it’ll take him to many corners of the “Phantom World” that will test his skills with a blade and martial arts.
#90 Towerborne
At first, you might think that Towerborne is a tower defense title. After all, it has “tower” in its name. However, that’s not the case, as you are instead an “Ace” who was born within a tower and is tasked with saving the people that rest within the Belfry.
But you won’t be merely setting up defenses. Instead, you’ll take your party, whether they be recruited characters or other Aces, out into the world to take down the forces that seek to harm the people.
You can build your Ace how you want, so don’t be afraid to go nuts with the customization. Plus, the world is constantly growing, so your adventures won’t end.
#89 ArcheAge 2
We will do back-to-back MMORPGs now, so bear with us, as some of this may sound familiar as we go from one to the other.
ArcheAge 2 is the sequel to the MMO from years back, and it’ll be coming to both console and PC. So, no matter how you like to play games, you have options here. The good news is that everything that you liked about the first game and its spinoffs will be present. The difference is that the game will feature a new timeline for you to explore and thus have new dangers to face.
Plus, it’ll run on Unreal Engine 5, so it’ll look GOOD!
#88 Skull & Bones
Skull & Bones was unveiled to be a pirate tactical action game. Players will take the role of commanding your ship, searching for loot, battle, and avoiding the law. The game was mainly showcased with players going around the oceans on a ship, so there didn’t look much in terms of freely roaming around on land. Initially, the previous development update had this game coming out towards the end of 2022. Unfortunately, Ubisoft required more time to work on the project which pushed the game back even further. We went through 2023 without the game released and if you’re wanting this pirate adventure experience we might have to wait until sometime in 2024.
#87 Pax Dei
Are you a big fan of going into a medieval world and seeing all you can do in it? If so, you’ll want to check out Pax Dei when it releases. In some ways, the title is two games in one, depending on how you want to play.
For example, if you’re an adventurous type, you can head out from your home and explore the vast world where monsters roam and secrets are buried. The deeper you go, the more threats you’ll face! So be ready for whatever comes your way.
Or, you can choose the more “homely” route and make a clan for yourself and watch as they grow while you’re under the protection of the gods.
#86 Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn
Picture this, please. The world has gotten an undead problem. But this time, it’s because of the gods! Yep, the gods are trying to take over the world with an undead army, and they’re doing a pretty good job of wrecking humanity.
So, in Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, you’ll be part of a coalition of humans who are tired of losing and are doing everything they can to fight back. You’ll need to use magic and might to push back the armies of the undead and take the fight right to the gods!
But whether that works out will be up to you. Think you’re up to the challenge?
#85 Towers of Aghasba
In many games that feature you building up things like a town or city, not much care is given to the surrounding environment. But in Towers of Aghasba, that’s not the case. In fact, you’ll have to go through the game to keep the balance between man and nature.
On one side of the equation, you’ll start a village for people of your tribe and then slowly grow it so that they can thrive and expand. But on the other side of the equation, you’ll travel around the island you’re on and help rebuild and regrow the ecosystems so that nature can thrive once more.
#84 Ark 2
Ark 2 is a sequel to Ark: Survival Evolved, a 2017 action-adventure survival game. In the original game, you began naked on a stranded island filled with dinos. The sequel is more of a PvE adventure with what Studio Wildcard calls “Souls-like melee combat.”
The story of Ark 2 takes place on an alien planet, sometime after the events of Genesis: Part 2, the fifth and final paid DLC expansion pack released for ARK: Survival Evolved. Ark 2 is a Microsoft exclusive, so you will need to play either on PC or Xbox Series X/S if you want to see a primitive version of Vin Diesel riding a dinosaur.
#83 Luna Abyss
Prisoners often have to do insane things in video games, and Luna Abyss is no different. You’re a criminal who is sent to a “mimic moon” that has a weird structure on it that needs investigation. But from the moment you set foot within the structure, you’re not just being watched; you’re being guided.
The structure is old, filled with memories and life, and it seems drawn to you for an unknown reason. The deeper you go, the more the mysteries will unfold, and the more you’ll feel the presence of what’s inside.
With a weapon in one hand and special abilities to use in the other, you’ll have to fight your way through to survive.
#82 Neo Berlin 2087
You are the detective known as Nolan. As a detective, you solve cases. It’s what you do. But when the police chief of Neo Berlin is brutally murdered, your next case will change everything. To learn the truth, you seek out the police chief’s daughter, Natalie. She holds the answers you need, but things only get more complicated as you find her.
NEO BERLIN 2087 will take you through an “emotionally charged” story where threats are everywhere, and the deeper you go into the mystery, the darker things will get. What is the conspiracy behind the events you’re trying to solve? You’ll need to survive the city and the wastelands outside to find out.
#81 Beast
Sometimes, there’s nothing left to do but burn to the ground those who have ruined your life. In Beast, you play a soldier who was a slave for ten years before finally being able to escape. But when you return to your homeland, it’s not what you remember.
A mad king sits on the throne, leading to unspeakable disasters happening all over. There’s a plague gripping the people and land, and it’s your job to make it disappear.
Your actions will determine how you harness the “beast within.” Will you let it control you? Or will you attempt to do a “holy quest” to free your homeland? The choice is yours.
#80 Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
Ubisoft has been doing a lot recently to revitalize old franchises and make new ones to hang their hats on. But they can’t get away from the “classics” that they feel need new stories in. For example, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is an original story that aims to bring back the charm of the original 2D titles.
In the game, you play as Sargon, who is part of an elite guard for the Persian Prince. But, when said prince is kidnapped, you must head to a mysterious place to try and get them back. A deep world full of mystery and monsters await you.
The deeper you go, the more you’ll unlock your powers and abilities! Use them to find the prince and get out alive!
#79 Throne and Liberty
Here’s a title from NCSoft that will make many gamers happy. Throne and Liberty is an MMORPG with a vast world to explore and do whatever you want in. They want to give players the freedom to choose their own path and have fun as they attempt to defeat the vile Kazar!
Plus, since it’s an MMO, the game is constantly evolving. To the point that even if you were able to defeat the villain and claim the throne for yourself, there will be enemies via other players waiting to take your spot!
So explore the world, see what it has to offer, build up your power base, and then claim the world for yourself! Or don’t.
#78 Tales of Anturia: Farathan
In fantasy stories, there are often tales of a prince destined for the throne, but then things go wrong. In Tales of Anturia: Farathan, that tale will take a unique twist and ensure you have plenty to do.
Specifically, you’ll be a prince attempting to take the throne over for your missing father. But after an attack by orcs, you have been weakened and lost, and though you are alive, no one believes you are the prince that was to lead them.
From that point on, you shape your story. You can try to take back the throne and learn the truth, or you can wander the realm and do what you desire.
#77 Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden
In the realm of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, there are two beings that you need to be mindful of: the living and the dead. Banishers are humans who attempt to eliminate the spirits that linger in our world. But when a couple finds themselves on opposite ends of the “living spectrum,” a new mission must be carried out.
You’ll go through this mysterious and intense world to find a way to bring your lover back. But it won’t be easy. Both characters have unique abilities to use to get rid of threats, but in the end, it’ll be your choice how the story ends.
#76 Blue Protocol
With the immense popularity that came from Genshin Impact, it wasn’t going to be long before we saw some competitors also hit the marketplace. One of the games that might appeal to players is Blue Protocol. This is another anime–style free to play MMORPG. In this game, we’re tossed into a new world on the brink of destruction. So far, we know that players will be taking the role of a customized hero seeking to end the ongoing conflicts and ensure that they can bring the world back to a peaceful state. Of course, being free to play, it should be interesting to see how the developers will profit from the microtransactions. But again, with Genshin Impact being a huge hit, we’re sure that there will be plenty of players interested in giving Blue Protocol a chance when it arrives in the marketplace.
#75 New Arc Line
When your family gets a terrible disease, you are determined to save them no matter what! That leads you to the “new world” where people live in luxury and everything seems perfect. But as we all know, such a place doesn’t exist.
You’ll soon see the filth and corruption that fills the place, and due to that, you resolve to work the system to get what you need.
Go through the “new world” and gain allies, set things in motion, take down those in charge, and more! Whatever it takes so you can find that cure and free your family from their burden. Can you make the “tough calls” to make that happen?
#74 Haunted Chocolatier
Now, there’s a title that no one would expect to see in a video game title. Oh, and it’s from the dude who made Stardew Valley? Yeah, this is going to get weird.
In Haunted Chocolatier, you’ll be a chocolate shop owner who is trying to make their shop successful. More than likely, you’ll have many options to make that happen and will be able to enjoy time with the local townspeople.
But the “haunted” part of the game is that there are apparently ghosts everywhere, and you’ll have to deal with them too. We don’t get it, but clearly, the creator wanted to make the game!
#73 Kristala
Have you ever dreamed of being a cat? We’re really asking that. It’s not wrong if you said “yes,” we’re not here to shame anyone!
We’re asking because, in Kristala, you can be a cat warrior and attempt to free your land from the forces of evil!
To do so, you must use your catlike abilities to beat enemies, navigate the environments, and do what needs to be done. Your cat warrior will be what you want them to become. So see what works for you, and become the true cat’s meow! Yes, we did make that joke. You’re welcome. Oh, you didn’t like that joke? Too bad!
#72 Yet Another Fantasy Title
If you’re expecting a “basic fantasy title” here, you’re actually in the wrong spot more or less. Because Yet Another Fantasy Title actually is a fantasy title…that makes fun of past fantasy titles from top to bottom. Such as how the main character is a Rogue who actually “takes over” the role of hero after “taking” the sword of a knight and stealing his unicorn.
And that’s just the start of the game.
You’ll go on an adventure to craft your own name and take down those who want to lay you low. All the while getting all sorts of references to past fantasy titles.
#71 Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake
Yes, we know, there are all sorts of remakes being made all the time and all over the place. But Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake might just be the one that fans are looking forward to the most in some ways because the original title was not just a classic, but a franchise maker.
You’ll be the Prince on his quest to save the princess from dark threats. Armed with your trusty dagger that wields the mythical sands of time, you’ll be able to reverse time in order to fix mistakes, or learn from your foes in order to better counter them.
Again, the original game was a classic, so now imagine it with modern graphics and quality of life updates! Exactly.
#70 Granblue Fantasy: Relink
Granblue Fantasy: Relink is an action RPG that’s set to launch next year. It will be set in the same fantasy realm as the original Granblue Fantasy, albeit in a new setting within that realm, and forms part of the ongoing franchise. The game itself introduces players to an immersive new fantasy world that looks pretty stunning, from the few gameplay clips we’ve seen so far. However, there’s been little news on the Granblue Fantasy: Relink front since Cygames released a teaser trailer last December. However from what we’ve seen so far, the combat looks pretty epic and the environments have clearly been crafted meticulously, promising a lot of satisfaction when exploring the new environments. Definitely, a release to keep an eye out for if you’re looking for new fantasy games next year.
#69 The First Descendant
The First Descendant is an upcoming action RPG title that throws players into a protagonist that has become a Descendant. This is an individual given powers and tasked with saving humanity. With a looming threat of annihilation from an otherworldly force, players will are put into the frontlines to protect humanity. Fortunately, it doesn’t look like you must endure this fight alone. From what the developers have unveiled so far, players can expect support for up to four-player co-op.
#68 Ashfall
Welcome to the world of Ashfall, where an AI uprising has led to the world being destroyed by nukes! We’re sure we’ve heard of that plotline before…
Regardless, as one of the few survivors, you’ll wander through this new wasteland in a desperate bid to find the Core of Creation. The RPG elements pertain to how you handle your weapons. You’ll have nine “shooting styles” that you can pick from and evolve as you go on. Will you go in guns blazing with a weapon in each hand? Or will you focus on making every shot blow your foes away?
Experiment, explore, and have fun as you try and rescue civilization.
#67 Pragmata
Pragmata is a tough game to describe. Capcom revealed trailers for this game, and it would be a euphemism to say they have been confusing.
For instance the debut trailer begins in an empty version of New York City. The protagonist, wearing a space suit, walks down these streets when a little girl and her holographic cat appear. Then a satellite breaks the ceiling of Earth, shattering gravity, and everyone ends up on the Moon. Even if the story remains blurry at this time, the graphics and overall premise of Pragmata seem interesting. This dystopian sci-fi adventure game is still a mystery, but one worth uncovering.
#66 Palworld
Palworld is…uh…ok, look, it’s a very twisted version of a certain pocket monster title. Yes, on the surface, it’s a game about you befriending “pals” and going on adventures. But in truth, it’s about using the Pals however you want, even if that means killing them or basically enslaving them.
Yes, we know the OTHER game is technically about enslavement, but this is so much worse! Plus, you can give your Pals guns to wield in battle because that’s totally kosher…
The whole thing is over the top, but that’s part of the appeal. You can do what you want and see what kind of life you can live with your “Pals” by your side.
#65 Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
They say being a vampire sucks. But you don’t seem to mind that drawback when you’re a vampire.
In Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, the story continues from past titles, and you’ll once again be put to the test as you try to navigate vampire society while also attempting to keep the peace with humans. A war is seemingly on the horizon, and your actions can directly affect that. But how will you choose to handle it? That is up to you.
Will you be the wise Elder Vampire and use your wits and cunning to keep things rolling? Or will you choose a side and let war happen? You’ll find out soon.
#64 Chrono Odyssey
Chrono Odyssey aims to be one of the prettiest MMORPGs you’ll ever see, as the game will be powered by Unreal Engine 5.
You’ll be put into the land of Setera, a place that’ll grow and evolve as the players change it and adventure through it.
Combat will have multiple elements for you to partake in, including a “time element” for you to wield and the ability to switch to other weapons on the fly. If all goes well, this could be a genre-defining title.
#63 Alone in the Dark
While many might not remember it, it was Alone in the Dark that helped set the tone for franchises like Resident Evil and Silent Hill. Bringing horror to video games in a way that wasn’t done before.
It eventually fell to the wayside, but something like that doesn’t stay buried for long. And now, THQ Nordic has revealed that Alone in the Dark will be coming back via their studio, and the team behind it are behind games like Amnesia and Soma, meaning that they are minds that are adapted for horror.
There isn’t much known about the game outside of it being called Alone in the Dark. But the team are aiming to build a modern horror masterpiece. So be on the lookout for more info.
#62 Metaphor: ReFantazio
Metaphor: ReFantazio is a new IP from Atlus, and it’s clear that they’re leaning heavily into the RPG stylings of their other beloved franchises to make this game stand out further.
While we don’t know too much about the title, it does give the tagline of “Face Your Fears, Take Back Tomorrow!” So if nothing else, you can guess that it’ll feature a plot to save the world. Just as important, it’ll feature the turn-based combat system that fans of a certain…Persona…will be used to. So hopefully, it’ll have that franchise’s quality as well.
#61 Path of Exile 2
Path of Exile 2 brings a new storyline that goes alongside the one from 2013’s Path of Exile. This new seven-act storyline leads to the same Atlas endgame as the original opus but brings new mechanics and enhancements to the original game.
This new game is set 20 years after the previous one. Society has been slowly rebuilding after the death of Kitava, but the thirst for power of some greedy persons began to corrupt Wraeclast once again. Path of Exile 2 features 19 new classes, a new Skill Gem system, a brand new range of equipment, as well as various improvements to the core system of the game.
#60 Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is the latest entry in the Eiyuden Chronicle series. This new JRPG is a collaboration between Yoshitaka Murayama (Suikoden I & II) and Junko Kawano (Suikoden I & IV). It takes place in Allraan, a continent housing several nations and cultures. One of these nations edged out the others and discovered a powerful technology that amplifies magic.
As for most JRPGs, the story is key to Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. The game also offers a vast world to explore, from bustling towns to creepy caves. Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes features turn-based combat for teams of six, with various AI commands to customize the fighting style of each hero.
#59 Plan 8
How many games out there feature a protagonist who has no idea who they are and must attempt to recover their memories while also taking everyone down as they approach? Well, Plan 8 is another one of those titles, but with a much grander scale.
In the game, you awaken in a place full of other people, mech suits, and chaos. You don’t know who you are, but you have a pistol and a note that says, “Find K.B.”
So whether you go at it as yourself or load up in a mech suit, you will be busy. This MMO will focus on combat and player interactions, so be ready for a struggle!
#58 Nightingale
In Nightingale, you’re going to be taken from your homeworld and thrown into a dimension of the Fae. Yep, you’re not in Kansas anymore, and this place is not going to wait on you hand and foot. You’ll need to become a Realmwalker and learn to live off the lands of the Fae and build yourself a new home and life while you walk from realm to realm.
Yes, there are many realms here that’ll you’ll be brought to randomly as you step through portals. Each one has its own unique “flavor”, so be prepared for that.
You’ll have to walk through them in order to region the last home of humans…via Nightingale.
#57 Greedfall 2: The Dying World
Don’t be fooled by the game’s name. The title is actually a prequel to the original game. That’s not confusing at all, right?
You are part of a tribe from an island when colonists settle on it, take you hostage, and forcibly put you into service in their homeland. In other words, not nice people are ruling over you. Now, you must get free and strike back at those who have oppressed you.
As you make allies, your world grows, as do the options you have with them. What will it take to make this world regret what it did to you? Play and find out!
#56 Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is the latest project from the creators of the Batman: Arkham series. Amanda Waller, a high-ranking government official, forms a team of supervillains to protect Metropolis against an alien threat. This team, also known as the Suicide Squad, includes popular DC supervillains: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark.
This action-adventure game doesn’t feature superheroes wanting to do good around them. Instead, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is filled with bad guys who don’t have much of a choice but to obey orders. Each squad member has their own unique abilities to defeat their enemies across an open-world version of Metropolis.
#55 Ferocious
You know how there’s always a “but” in certain scenarios that you dream about? For example, “you get stranded on an island after a shipwreck,” and you start to picture what it’s like, and then someone goes, “But…it’s full of dinosaurs!”
That is the world of Ferocious that you’ll be put into. But that’s just one of the dangers you’ll face in this mysterious place. Some mercenaries are MORE than happy to try and gun you down. So go into the island’s depths with weapons and your finger ready to pull the trigger.
Will you survive this place? That’s up to you.
#54 Level Zero
Asymmetrical multiplayer titles offer a unique challenge to gamers, and Level Zero will showcase that in many ways.
The story is that a group of scientists have traveled through space to reach a new planet. But before they can make this place their home, they are invaded by aliens! Now, your group of four must try to repair your vessel so that you can get out of there alive!
Or, if you’re the two aliens in this scenario, your goal is simply to take out the scientists by any means necessary so that they never fix the ship and rest in pieces.
Who will win? That depends on how good you are.
#53 Sand Land
Based on the story by Akira Toriyama, Sand Land will take gamers into a unique world where people and demons both have a problem: there’s not enough water! That sucks!
You’ll play as the “Fiend Prince,” Beelzebub. With his two comrades, you’ll journey across a vast desert in search of a mythical spring that could end everyone’s woes! But, naturally, it won’t be an easy adventure, as monsters and foes will try to stop you.
Another key twist is that instead of fighting with your characters, you’ll build up vehicles to fight monsters for you! You can also set up a base within the desert and slowly grow it until it’s a city!
#52 Steel Seed
Who doesn’t love a dark sci-fi world where you get to wield incredible weapons and show robots who’s the boss? Exactly. In Steel Seed, you play as Zoe, who is on a mission to get into a robot factory where your father is being held.
Sounds simple enough, right? But a certain artificial intelligence isn’t too keen on you getting anywhere near him and sends hordes of robots after you! Alongside your drone companion, you’ll work your way through the facility, use numerous weapons to slice up the robots, and hopefully, make it out alive.
But what will you be when you exit this place? You’ll have to play to find out.
#51 Sand
You might not think that a game about a desert and going through it would be that exciting. But as in all things, there are layers to the sand.
In the game known as Sand, a planet has been turned into a raging desert after a once powerful empire fell to ruin. Those who believe that there are treasures beneath the sand now descend upon the planet in great numbers and seek to make their claim on these riches.
With a massive machine known as a Trampler on your side, you’ll wade through the sands, seek the truth of this planet, and fight off those who want to take the rewards for themselves!
#50 Delta Force: Hawk Ops
If you’re looking for a classic-style shooter that embraces the real world and really makes you think about what it means to be a special forces operative, then get Delta Force: Hawk Ops when it releases.
The shooter will feature multiple modes you can enjoy, including a deep campaign that’ll recreate the many adventures of Delta Force for you to partake in and experience.
Then, dive into the multiplayer and experience its many levels. What kind of soldier will you be? Will you jump into vehicles at the first chance? How will you survive against enemy combatants?
Jump in and find out!
#49 Persona 3 Reload
Atlus has been on quite a roll ever since they released their fifth mainline title. They’ve brought many of their games to numerous platforms, and now, they’re remaking the entry that truly brought a shift to their series via Persona 3 Reload.
The game will give a complete makeover to the OG title and adorn it with updated graphics, UI, music, voice acting, and more. The title takes place in a world where a gateway to another dimension has unlocked an extra hour during the day. Now, a group of students must come together and unlock their Personas so they can save the world from the monsters that lurk within the realm of Tartarus!
#48 Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown
11 years after its last installment, the Test Drive racing game series is back with a new game in 2024. Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown will feature an open-world 1:1 version of Hong Kong for you to discover during both day and night.
Of course, a racing game needs fancy cars. Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown confirmed you would be able to drive popular cars from Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, and Bugatti. But if driving is at the core of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, the game also puts the emphasis on social status. The game promises a “lifestyle experience unlike any other,” but we don’t have more information as to what it means in terms of gameplay so far.
#47 ROUTINE
It was supposed to be a simple mission. But we all know those missions don’t STAY simple, now do they? In ROUTINE, you head to a base on the moon. There were people in that base, and yet, they’ve all gone quiet. What could have happened to them?
As you enter the base, you find yourself alone, except for the person who’s constantly watching you and wants to eliminate you! Look for clues about what happened as you explore the station, and do your best to avoid what’s coming for you.
Violence is a last resort in this game, so run when you feel you’re in danger and hope you can evade the threat!
#46 Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail
There will be multiple entries from this franchise in the top ten. We just thought we’d give you a heads-up on that front.
Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail will be the first big expansion of the hit MMO ever since the main story of the last several years wrapped up. That means that players won’t just have a new land to explore but a story to watch unfold.
Plus, there will be new characters to meet, classes to unlock, and things to do. So if you’ve been wanting to hit the MMO again, this will be the thing that gets you back into the fold.
#45 Dragon Quest XII: The Flames Of Fate
Square Enix is firing on all cylinders in an attempt to get every major RPG series they have back up and running, and Dragon Quest XII: The Flames Of Fate is another attempt to make that happen. The 11th title was a huge hit with gamers, and the dev team is making big changes to the next entry to ensure its success.
For example, the game will use Unreal Engine 5 for its graphics, meaning it will look as good as possible. As for the plot, the team has been mum about things. However, they did note that character choices would matter in the title and that things will be “darker” this time around.
#44 Off The Grid
It was inevitable that a battle royale game would be on this list. After all, they’re still incredibly popular, so why wouldn’t someone want to make another in 2024?
The “hook” of Off The Grid is that it aims to be the most “unhinged” version of a battle royale you’ll ever see while also adding a narrative to it all.
If you play against other people, you’ll dive into 150-person events where only one can survive. But if you prefer a storyline, then you can get sixty hours of entertainment out of its campaign. So which will you choose? Or will you dive into both?
#43 I.G.I Origins
If you remember the original title from 2000, you’ll understand its impact on gaming. Fast forward a couple of decades, and you’ll get to see the world it built in a new light via I.G.I Origins.
The game will take place before the original game’s events and put you in the role of Michael King. You can call him Regent and use him however you want. As a special agent for a “unique agency,” you can choose to be the ultimate spy and outsmart your foes without firing a shot. Or you can pick the biggest and best weaponry and destroy all your foes before they can fire back.
#42 Lightyear Frontier
To infinity…and beyond! Oh, wrong lightyear? Our bad.
In Lightyear Frontier, you won’t just be traveling to a new world to explore. Instead, you’re traveling to a new world to grow crops! Yes, we’re being serious here. The game focuses on farming and has you building up a nice place to show off alien crops in all their many forms.
But don’t worry, there’s plenty to do in this world. There’s a hidden history here you can explore. Plus, you can gather numerous resources to build things like a home for your farm. Oh, and did we mention you’ll get to pilot a mech in the game and upgrade it? Because you can!
#41 ALARA Prime
One of the things about multiplayer shooters that can’t be ignored is that if you don’t work together with your team or have a sound strategy, you’re not going to go very far. In ALARA Prime, that will prove prophetic, given the numerous variables at work here.
In this case, the game is a 4v4v4 title where you’ll work in a squad and attempt to defeat your rival teams while also completing objectives. You can choose the class of soldier you want to be, use gadgets to help you secure areas, and fight back against enemy targets.
But will you get victory? That depends on what you do with your squad.
#40 Instinction
Who wouldn’t want to explore a lost world full of dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures? Wouldn’t that be the adventure of a lifetime? What do you mean that would be dangerous? That’s why there are weapons in the world!
Anyway, Instinction will have you playing Isabel, who has stumbled into said “lost world” and must now find out the many secrets that are hidden within. Why are all these ancient creatures here? What is the truth behind the civilization that lies within this place? Will you be able to survive everything that is thrown at you? Dive in and find out!
#39 ILL
If it’s not apparent, you will be ILL by the time you’re done playing this title. See what we did there? Yep, we’re really clever.
Pats on the back aside, the game is a first-person shooter mixed with a deep horror storyline. You come to a town that is being ripped apart by its own people. They have gone mad, and monstrous entities are all around.
You’ll need to use various weapons to put the monsters down in the most brutal ways possible. But that won’t be easy when the enemies will adapt to you over time! Take them down limb by limb if you have to, whatever it takes to survive!
#38 Blight Survival
They say that war makes monsters of us all, but in Blight Survival, you’ll learn the true horrors of that statement when actual monsters take the battlefield.
Set within a medieval period, two nations are at war when a “blight” has filled a no man’s land with terrible creatures. With each dead that falls in this place, more blights rise up to seek out more flesh.
You and your friends are brave knights who decided to venture forth to find the source of this plague and put it down. But it won’t be easy. These monsters have incredible strength and power, and you’ll need to do your best to survive it!
#37 Tormented Souls 2
There are plenty of heroines in the video game space that you can’t help but root for, but when it comes to Caroline Walker, you can’t help but sympathize with her. She’s already been through the wringer, and now, she will have to go through it all again!
In Tormented Souls 2, Caroline’s sister Anne has fallen sick with something that no “natural medicine” can cure. So what’s a sister to do? Seek out “alternative methods” that may have connections to the supernatural.
Yeah, she’s about to get wrecked once again, and it’s up to you to keep her sane and alive! Good luck with that.
#36 Paranormal Tales
There are multiple kinds of subgenres within the horror genre, and Paranormal Tales will embrace one of them as it puts you in the role of someone watching “found footage” of several events. Your role is to both guide the events and seek out the truth behind each of them.
The environments are meant to look realistic, the same with the camera movements. You’ll want to explore everything you see so you can learn the truth. But sometimes, the truth can be scarier than the things coming after you.
Are you brave enough to go through each piece of footage? Will you be stunned at what happens at the end? One way to find out…
#35 Project Mugen
How about something a little more futuristic and anime-like? Project Mugen is aiming to be a bold kind of title that’ll give you vast cities to explore and numerous kinds of dangers to face, including the supernatural.
You play an “Esper,” an agent who goes out into the numerous cities of the game to figure out the supernatural threats that are affecting the people and their way of life.
The city is alive in more ways than one. There will be a day and night cycle where you’ll see the people and city in new lights and numerous ways to take on foes. Can you keep the city safe from harm?
#34 Once Human
Why is it that so many games about the post-apocalypse have to be so depressing? Why can’t it be about the world rebuilding itself in the RIGHT way after the end times?
Sadly, Once Human doesn’t take our advice. Instead, they highlight a world where an alien invasion literally covered and transformed the entire planet, its population, the plants and animals, etc. As a result, just about everything has been warped beyond recognition.
You are one of the “lucky ones” who have their mind intact and has abilities to boot. But will you be able to resist the strain on your mind long enough to fight back? Or will you be consumed?
#33 Clockwork Revolution
Time, huh? Thanks for the tip.
In Clockwork Revolution, you play someone who has found a time machine. But after using it, you realize something very important. Specifically, your home of Avalon was shaped entirely by going back in time and screwing with events.
As a result, you will go back in time to those events and change things. But, as all time travel fans know, once you alter something in the past, the future changes with it. You’ll watch after each journey as your home and relationships change. But will they change for the better? Or will they be worse? These are the consequences you’ll have to think about.
#32 Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
Oh, look! Ichiban is back! That can only mean nice and totally not weird things are about to happen, right?
Yeah, we all know better than that! Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will continue the story of Ichiban as he attempts to build up a new life for himself while still being tied to the Yakuza life he has known for so long. The game will apparently “fill in the gaps” between certain entries while still being its own thing.
The turn-based RPG combat and quests will be present, given their success in the previous title, and things are likely to get even crazier in the sequel. So, if nothing else, prepare for things to get nuts.
#31 Black Myth Wukong
Black Myth Wukong is an upcoming action RPG inspired by a 16th-century Chinese novel called Journey to the West. The narrative of the game is based on the adventures of the Monkey King, a famous mythical character who is one of the novel’s primary characters.
In the game, this powerful monkey is referred to as the “Destined One.” He bears several abilities, such as the power to turn into a swamp of flying insects or transform into a giant monster. During his adventures, he will face various opponents, from headless monks to a powerful white dragon.
#30 Manor Lords
Who doesn’t love a city-building title? Oh, you all do? Great to hear, as you’ll love Manor Lords if that’s the case. The title allows you to build up your own manor and land how you see fit and then expand it as you gain more wealth.
One thing you’ll notice is that the style of building is organic. That means you’re not just putting down a building anywhere. You have to work to make everything happen, giving you more realistic towns and cities to work with.
Manage your resources to build yourself up, and prepare to defend what you have against enemy hordes!
#29 Bye Sweet Carole
They say that graphics are one of the most important parts of a video game, and in many cases, they are right. However, there are many levels that graphics can go to tell a unique story, and Bye Sweet Carole might just be one of the most unique games coming out by that metric.
The game will feature a young girl who seeks the truth about a place she finds herself in. A place of terror that happens to be infested with rabbits.
Her tale will not be easy, and the fate of a young girl named Carole might just mimic her own. Enjoy the dark tale while bathing in the familiar visions of animated films gone by.
#28 Alterborn
When the world ends, but you somehow survive, what other path is there but to go forward? In Alterborn, you are a human who was able to endure the end of the world. But the cost of that survival was high. You are basically a monster, and many view you as that.
However, you have a choice about what you become. You can focus on keeping your humanity and get revenge on those that destroyed the world, or you can embrace the darkness within you and see just how much power you can gain.
You’ve already lost the world; will you lose yourself as well?
#27 S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart of Chornobyl
For the first time in its history, a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game is coming to consoles. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, the fourth game in the series, will release in 2024. This new title aims to revive the series, which stopped in 2009 with S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl was supposed to come out in 2012 as Call of Pripyat’s sequel, but was canceled on the year of its intended release. The game is now back on track, with a release in 2024.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is an FPS set in the post-apocalyptic Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. Mutated monsters and stalkers are roaming around this open world, and it is up to you to take part in a non-linear journey to decide the fate of this zone.
#26 Destiny 2: The Final Shape
The War of Light and Darkness has had many ups and downs. But now, the time has come to deal with The Witness and stop their plans for reality.
Destiny 2: The Final Shape will bring a true end to Bungie’s second game in the franchise, and all roads have led to this. You’ll head to The Pale Heart, where reality is being torn apart, and one can only hope that everything doesn’t turn out like this.
With multiple paths to embark on, you and others will have to venture deep to get the answers you seek and unlock what is required to put an end to the evil that is growing.
#25 Where Winds Meet
Where Winds Meet is an action RPG with a martial arts twist set in 10th-century China, it’ll also be an open-world title, so you’ll be exploring the ancient land on your journey.
But what is your journey? You’ll play as a wandering swordsman who finds himself at the crux of the dangers dividing the land. Not the least is a land divided due to a past war.
Now, you must wander and make choices that’ll determine your fate and the fate of China. For example, will you be a noble swordsman who protects the innocent people of the land? Or will you be selfish and only fight for your own goals? The choice is yours.
#24 I, The Inquisitor
I, the Inquisitor is an exciting-looking adventure game set in a truly dark and interesting fantasy world. The story centers on an alternative version of history, in which Jesus didn’t actually die during his crucifixion. Instead, he reacted with fury after returning to life as a wrathful god, determined to enact revenge on his persecutors. From there, centuries’ worth of his inquisitors continued to violently enforce faith upon non-believers, thus creating a dark and tyrannical world of biblical rule. In I, the Inquisitor, players will take on the role of one of these inquisitors during the 1500s, in an adventure that’s sure to be packed with ethical dilemmas and challenging moral decisions. This looks like a game with plenty of exploration, combat and excellent choice-and-consequence-based storytelling.
#23 Unrecord
Arguably one of the most unique games on this list, Unrecord will put you in the role of a cop, but with a key twist. Instead of most games where you’ll see things through his eyes, you’ll specifically see things through the “eyes” of his body cam.
Through that footage and your choices, you’ll guide your officer through multiple events and attempt to learn the truth about what’s going on around you.
How you get through the game is entirely up to you. You can be a force of nature and blast your way through, or be stealthy and avoid all conflicts. The choice is yours.
#22 Assassin’s Creed: Hexe
Not unlike another game on this list, Ubisoft has been keeping the details around Assassin’s Creed: Hexe rather close to their chest. That’s not a bad thing, as that means we can speculate all we want about what the game will be!
So, what can we tell just from the title and its teaser? Well, the game seems to be hinting at a supernatural component. That starkly contrasts to the “science and skill” that most games talk about and focus on.
But that could lead to new dangers and threats, and thus, a unique experience. We won’t know more until they reveal it.
#21 Little Nightmares III
Are you ready for another nightmare to walk through? Do you think you can handle all the dark twists and turns that are going to happen to you along the way? Will you be able to resist the darkness that lies all around?
If so, grab a friend and jump into Little Nightmares III! With your partner, you’ll play the characters Low and Alone. They’re seeking a way out of the place known as The Nowhere, and you’ll have to help them on that path.
But The Spiral you’ll find yourselves in is deep and dangerous. Do you think you can escape the dangers that exist there?
#20 Helldivers 2
Are you ready to blow up alien monsters in the name of peace? There really shouldn’t be any hesitation on that answer because Helldivers 2 will let you destroy creatures with the biggest and most powerful weapons possible just so you can say you helped save your planet.
The game will put you in overwhelming scenarios where more firepower is the only “right answer” to get out of them. Plus, you’ll work in a team, so you can wipe out the alien menaces even faster!
The more progress you make, the more weapons you can unlock! So what are you waiting for? Your planet needs you…to blow things up!
#19 Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game
Look, we all know that clowns will be the death of us all. There’s no use in fighting it. However, in Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game, you can take out the clowns before they get you and your friends!
This is another in a long line of asymmetrical multiplayer titles, and in this case, it’s a 3v7 title. Three of you will be the infamous clowns who are haunting Crescent Cover to prepare for your invasion. The other seven are the people trying to stop the invasion from happening.
Use the weapons you have on hand to gain the advantage and don’t let the other side get the win!
#18 Avowed
While it may not sound like it, or look at it given its first-person perspective, Avowed is set in the realm of Pillars of Eternity, and that makes it all the more intriguing to fans of the franchise.
However, the new “focus” if you will is apparently making this game more to something like the Elder Scrolls as you’ll be dealing with magic and swordplay in the first-person perspective. Something that is very different from the Pillars of Eternity Games.
The first trailer for the game hints at many things, including dark forces brought to life by unnatural means, a former member of royalty trying to get back the crown, and more. We’ll have to wait for more details though.
#17 The Witcher Remake
Remakes are something that we get all the time nowadays in the gaming space. But the question is really, “Do we need them?” For some of them, the answer is no. But, in the case of The Witcher Remake, you can answer “YES!”
Why? Because most people never played the first game. Heck, most people have only played the third, and that’s why it’s the best-selling game in the series by a landslide.
That’s not to say the first two games weren’t good; they were, but their reputation built up over time. So, going back to the original game and then seeing it reborn? That’s going to be something that gets fans interested.
#16 Robin Hood: Sherwood Builders
Who’s ready to become the prince of thieves? No, not Aladdin! We’re talking about Robin Hood!
In Robin Hood: Sherwood Builders, you’ll become the legendary thief in his quest to take down the corrupt near Sherwood Forest while also helping the people. It’s that latter part that really is the game’s focus, though. While you will get to do thievery, you and your merry men will also build a small community in the forest for the people fleeing the corrupt Sheriff to live in.
Make it able to sustain itself and keep the people happy while also taking out those who might harm them! Your adventure awaits, oh mighty archer.
#15 Outpost: Infinity Siege
There are plenty of games out there that love blending genres to give you the best possible gameplay experience, and Outpost: Infinity Siege mixes two genres in unique ways.
The title puts you on a planet that is full of enemies and possibilities. You’ll command a mobile outpost that you can upgrade however you want. Specifically, you’ll upgrade it to handle all the different foes you’ll face so they’ll get wiped off the map while you keep moving forward.
Plus, you can pilot a mech yourself to take out those ahead of you. So build up your ultimate base, and don’t let anything get close!
#14 Killing Floor 3
Oh, lucky you, we’re about to drop a game on you that’s less about story and more about violence. Glorious, unending, gory violence. Doesn’t that sound like fun? Good!
In Killing Floor 3, you and your friends will go up against an army of monsters called Zeds. Where did they come from? Oh, some evil corporation made them in a bid to take over the world. You know, same old stuff.
So, the only way to save the world is to kill all of them. You’ll enjoy teaming up with friends and putting the enemies down, and your co-op parties can get quite big, so enjoy!
#13 Assassin’s Creed: Red
While we’re still light on details about what Assassin’s Creed: Red will be, the game promises a key location will be explored: Japan! Yes, the hallowed location of many iconic characters and stories is finally coming to Ubisoft’s beloved franchise.
More than likely, the game will feature you as an assassin who aims to right the wrongs of the Templars or other foes who are trying to sway the balance of power in the country for themselves. Since you’re set in Japan this time, you’ll likely learn the skills of both a Samurai and a ninja.
Plus, Ubisoft has promised that the game will be a tease of what will come from their future titles.
#12 Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Remake
The Splinter Cell franchise has been one that fans have been calling for in terms of a return for quite some time now. And thankfully for them, they’re getting their wish. Because a Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Remake is in the works right now at Ubisoft. It’s about dang time.
Now, we don’t know much, or even if this is a full-on remake of the first Splinter Cell title, but if they’re remaking any of the main games to kickstart the return of the franchise, we’re all for it.
The stealth and unique missions of this game will be very much welcome in the video game world we have today, so please don’t screw this up Ubisoft!
#11 Fable
Yes, it’s true, we’re getting another Fable game, and it’s being made by the same people who made some of the Forza titles, and even using their engine, so this is going to be interesting, isn’t it?
The irony of the Fable series of course is that each game had its “lofty goals” in terms of how it was going to affect the world of RPGs and just worldbuilding in general, but it never lived up to those lofty heights. With a new team in the position to “fix things”, one has to wonder what the new team is cooking up to try and make it both true to the past games, while also being its own creation.
#10 Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
The original title that followed the journey of Senua was a dark and gripping adventure that pushed the boundaries on what a video game can be, and how it can both look and play well, but have a truly deeper meaning.
Now, with Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, we’re going to get the next continuation of that, and by all indications, everything in this game is going to be bigger than the first.
While we don’t know exactly what is going on in the game as of yet, we do know that there is going to be a lot of monsters, including a giant that eats people, vast lands and very intense visuals via the Unreal Engine 5.
#9 Dragon’s Dogma II
Many gamers have wondered why Dragon’s Dogma II hasn’t come out sooner, especially since the first game was a cult classic that eventually grew to sizeable numbers in terms of sales. The answer was that Capcom simply couldn’t dedicate the team to making the sequel title due to other games having importance.
However, now that they’ve had their schedules freed up, they want to deliver a sequel that expands everything the first title had and adds in everything they couldn’t put in before.
So, if you were hoping that the next game would be bigger and better than the last, you will get your wish.
#8 Dune: Awakening
Are you ready to seize your own destiny and see if you can survive a world with many dangers? Dune: Awakening is an MMO set in the world of Arrakis. You’ll create your character and then set them off on a journey that’ll take you to familiar and unknown places.
What will you choose to be among the sands? Will you attempt to do things alone so you can never be betrayed? Or will you find allies and attempt to tip the balance of power in your favor?
A vast world is waiting to be explored, so look all over to see where you may go next, and you never know who you might meet.
#7 Silent Hill 2 Remake
Easily one of the most anticipated remakes coming out, Konami is taking a dive back into their “classics vault” to dredge up a return to an infamous place. The Silent Hill 2 Remake will be a complete remake of the original PS2 classic and feature next-gen graphics that will help take players to a new level of horror.
When a man gets trapped in the infamous town of Silent Hill, he must ward off monsters and learn the horrifying truth that lurks within. You’re in for a treat if you haven’t experienced this game yet. A horrifying, mind-bending treat that helped set the standard in the PS2 era and possibly will do so in the PS5 era.
#6 Final Fantasy XVI (PC)
Before you say anything, be sure you notice the “PC” part of our title, as that’s the keyword here. Yes, Final Fantasy XVI is out on PS5 right now, and people think it’s a possible “Game of the Year” contender. But as Sony has shown plenty in recent years, they want even more people to play their titles, so they’re bringing it to PC.
The game will be welcomed on the system, so long as it’s optimized, as many haven’t gotten to enjoy the story of Clive and his quest for revenge. The game is a significant departure from what Square Enix has done with their prized franchise, so it’ll be interesting to see what others think as they play it.
#5 Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is the first DLC by FromSoftware for their GOTY title that many people still rave about. And raving about it, they should be!
After all, the game was an incredible evolution of what the developer had done in the past, and the vast world, with its unique lore, had players wanting more. With this DLC, they’ll get that. But, true to their nature, we don’t know much about the DLC as it stands.
Based on what we do know, it will focus on key characters within the lore and possibly flesh out the world even more. The only thing we can be certain about is that people will die in the game.
#4 The Witcher Polaris
As we enter the top ten, it’s interesting that we will focus on a game that we know next to nothing about. CD Projekt Red has confirmed that a new saga in The Witcher is about to begin, and that will pique the interest of many who love the franchise.;
However, aside from a small teaser, we don’t know what the game is about, who will star in it, and more. We know it won’t be Geralt, as he had his “sendoff” in the third entry. CD Projekt Red is promising something new and fresh, but will it be able to capture the beauty and detail of the original trilogy? Only time will tell.
#3 Dragon Age Dreadwolf
Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is the fourth installment in the Dragon Age series, and a direct sequel to 2014’s Dragon Age: Inquisition. After several development hiccups, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is finally making its way to our consoles soon.
The story will follow the events of Dragon Age: Inquisition and its third and final DLC, Trespasser. We don’t know much about Dragon Age: Dreadwolf yet, besides that it takes place in Tevinter Imperium and stars a “kind of person [enemies] will never see coming,” according to the 2020 Game Awards trailer. This hero will not be a figure of prophecy with a “magic hand,” but their exact identity remains a mystery.
#2 Grand Theft Auto VI
While we can’t confirm that Grand Theft Auto VI will come out in 2024, there is a strong belief that, at the very least, we’ll hear more from Rockstar Games about it. The title is one of many “potential games” that could make 2024 a big year for gaming, and it’s not hard to see why.
After all, the 5th title in the mainline series helped set the tone for longevity by being at the top of the market for basically a decade!
Can Rockstar Games replicate that? Who can say? But we know they have what it takes to make games shine, and that might be all they need.
#1 Mass Effect 5
There was a time when Bioware was the king of RPGs, and they had epic titles on the PC that gamers could enjoy easily without needing a super-powerful system.
However, in recent times, they’ve really struggled. However, with Mass Effect 5, many truly hope things are about to turn around. After the disaster of the 4th title, Bioware has promised a “return to form” that gamers can enjoy.
Of course, we’ve heard such promises before from various development teams, including Bioware. So, will this one be different? Will it come out in 2024? We’ll have to wait and see if they can…Shepherd…us across the stars.
